The recent and record-breaking cuts to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) in the "One Big Beautiful Bill" Act will have significant impacts that will be felt across the food system. In order to better understand what is happening and the potential impacts, it is critical to understand the history of SNAP and how public discourse about such a program has shifted over time.
This workshop will explore the history of the Food Stamp Act and SNAP, what is happening to SNAP right now, and how communities can prepare, respond, and act in light of these significant changes.
Come to the Table is excited to collaborate with Dr. Sarah Bowen and Annie Hardison-Moody from NC State to provide this free workshop to you.
